My name is Ian Rastall. I live in beautiful Evanston, Illinois. I’ve been learning chess for only a couple years and have an abysmal rating. So this site is just reference material. The posts are simplified theory tables from the ECO (Encyclopedia of Chess Openings), the NCO (Nunn’s Chess Openings), and the MCO (Modern Chess Openings). It’ll never be finished, but that’s okay. An endless source of blog posts is not to be sneezed at.

I’m also collecting PGNs of various tournaments — meaning collections of PGNs that serve as one big file on their own. That information mostly comes from chessgames.com, although I fill in tons of information from places like the FIDE website and chess.com.

I hope you find this a peaceful island in the chaos of cyberspace. Thank you for visiting.
